African Dogon door - Vintage African wood door - Granary Door, Old Mali door W Sliding Lock - Door - Wood door - Decorative door

Vintage from the 1960s Materials: wood   A Dogon hand-crafted wooden granary door represents a unique sample of African ethnic art. Granaries were of primary importance to the Dogon people who have been described as the most studied and least understood tribal group in Africa. This piece used to secure the door to a granary that contained the livelihood of an entire family or small social group. Animals and human figures depicted on doors were supposed to ward off ill fortune while bestowing it upon anyone or anything that tried to steal from the granary. On this particular door you can see a shape of a magical crocodile as a protective symbol. This unique object of Dogon art is a striking and attractive piece of secular African design, and a credit to any collection.Dimensions : 42 CM X 59 CM = 1.3 FT X 1.9 FT DRB11——————————————More info ———————Shipping methods : Fedex, DHL “ Door to Door “ for your convenience 2-3 Business days after handling time anywhere in USA.. and Canada … Europe … AsiaWe help small stores by offering Wholesale prices, please inquire on our Etsy conversationWe do special inspection on our rugs before we ship them out , we make sure all our rugs are clean, in good condition  before we ship them out,Please feel free to inquire about making your custom dream rug , it usually takes 3-4 weekssend us image or link of the rug you want to replicate Urgent quick email for custom rugs , or Wholesale offers or any urgent matter saradisigner [!at] gmail.comOr +16467755843 ( Whatsap only ) or text

The Beni Ourain rug traces its roots back to the Berber tribes of the Moroccan Atlas Mountains, a region steeped in ancient traditions and rich history. For centuries, the women of the Beni Ourain tribe have woven these rugs, intertwining their daily experiences, tribal tales, and nature-inspired motifs into the fabric. Crafted using undyed natural wool and hand-spun cotton, each rug stands as a unique tapestry of life, distinguished by its creamy background and dark, geometric patterns. Beyond their beauty and craftsmanship, Beni Ourain rugs encapsulate the spirit, culture, and storytelling heritage of a people, making them a cherished heirloom in homes around the world.
Beni Ourain rugs are celebrated for their authentic and organic composition. Handcrafted using the plush wool sheared from the indigenous sheep of the Moroccan Atlas Mountains, these rugs boast a rich, luxurious texture. The undyed wool, renowned for its purity, imparts a natural cream hue to the rugs. Further enhancing their tactile appeal, the thick, soft pile is interwoven with hand-spun cotton, ensuring both durability and comfort. The organic materials not only lend Beni Ourain rugs their iconic aesthetic but also a warmth and coziness that enriches any living space.
Handmaking these rugs requires no machinery or harmful chemicals, making them environmentally sustainable and friendly.
